Based on the Christian County Public Schools district attendance policy, students who are absent for any reason, are required to return to school with a note within 5 days of the absence.

Valid reasons for absences are defined in the student code of acceptable behavior.

Absence notes may be one of the following:

1. Signed note or excuse by a health professional or doctor -"Dr.'s note"

2.  Signed parent statement of absence (not to exceed 6 days)

3.  Signed court document stating their required attendance for a court proceeding

Per the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), there are no excused or “Q” code absences this year for pandemic or epidemic reasons. All absences will be managed as outlined above.

Any student who does not present with one of the above notes for absence, will be marked unexcused. Six (6) unexcused absences will result in the student being defined as truant.
