I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from Campbellsville University in 2008.  I  completed my Master's degree in Teacher Leadership with an English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement from Georgetown College in May 2015.

I began my teaching career as a K-5 Spanish teacher in Lexington, KY.  After two years in that position, I was an instructional paraeducator for grades 3-5 helping with math and reading intervention.  In the 2014-2015 school year I relocated to Charlotte, NC and taught 3rd grade literacy. Then, I taught 2nd grade reading and writing at MLK. Last year, I taught K-6 Spanish, in the library, and also assisted the students with checking-out books. This year I am teaching 1st grade writing, science, and social studies.

I have grown up in Kentucky, with only one year away while teaching in Charlotte, NC.  I have been married for 6 years and have two sons.  I love teaching and look forward to a great year in 2017-2018!
